Nintendo of America published a demo trailer for Monster Hunter Wilds (2026) on Nintendo Switch 2, spotlighting the free Prologue Demo that went live October 19. It is the platform's first playable taste of Capcom's action-RPG before its December 4 full release — a meaningful on-ramp for the Switch 2 audience.
Official trailerThe trailer, posted October 23, 2026, shows footage set in the Forbidden Lands — the game's central open-world biome — and outlines the demo's core terms: save data carries forward to the full game, and local co-op is supported, though online multiplayer is not available in the demo. The full Monster Hunter Wilds Switch 2 version launches December 4, 2026. The trailer also confirms that Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance — the major expansion introducing Master Rank and a new sky locale — is coming to Switch 2 at its 2027 launch alongside other platforms.
